Chevrolet announced that the 2027 Corvette range took home three TopGear.com US Car Awards, with the new 6.7-liter LS6 small-block earning Engine of the Year, the 2027 Corvette Grand Sport named Sports Car of the Year, and the 2027 Corvette ZR1X crowned Supercar of the Year. The automaker says the LS6 is a new entry for 2027 and one of three V8 choices in the Corvette family.
Chevrolet’s release lists the LS6 at 535 horsepower and 520 lb-ft of torque and notes it powers the 2027 Stingray and Grand Sport. The company also highlighted performance variants: the first-ever Grand Sport X pairs the LS6 with a front-axle electric motor for a combined 721 horsepower, while the ZR1X uses a twin-turbo LT7 V8 with electrified all-wheel drive for a quoted 1,250 horsepower.
For Michigan enthusiasts, the awards underline Corvette’s continued role as a domestic performance benchmark and point to growing electrification across high-performance models from Detroit. What’s next is broader customer availability and real-world testing; Chevrolet’s announcement establishes factory figures and accolades, but local deliveries and independent evaluations will determine how these models perform for owners and track-goers.
