Shiny Rust Hot Rod Spectacular Returns to Novi with Vintage Classics and Family Attractions

Second annual Shiny Rust Hot Rod Spectacular arrives in Novi October 17–18, bringing hot rods, customs, movie-car attractions and family-friendly activities to Metro Detroit.

The Shiny Rust Hot Rod Spectacular is set for October 17–18 at the Vibe Credit Union Showplace in Novi, returning for a second year after its 2025 debut. Organizers say the event will showcase vintage classics, hot rods, customs and drag cars, continuing the Waterford Township show’s momentum that drew more than 200 vehicles in 2025.

Event organizer Randy Adam is cited in previews describing the Spectacular as a family-friendly, cost-conscious attraction. Planned features include racing simulators, a pin-up contest and movie-car-style displays such as an Eleanor replica. One highlighted build is a 1972 Volkswagen Super Beetle modified to look like a wind-up toy, underscoring the show’s blend of traditional restorations and creative custom work.

For Michigan car enthusiasts, the Novi event offers another accessible local venue to see a broad cross-section of American and custom car culture without traveling to larger regional shows. What’s known next is the two-day schedule at the Vibe Credit Union Showplace; additional details on participants, exact event programming and any ticketing particulars were not included in the report.
